I plan on majoring in communications, but am also interested in going to graduate school for directing?

I want to direct films or possibly direct documentaries. What can I do to prepare myself for graduate school to get an MFA in directing?
Should I switch my major?
I was planning to transfer to UCLA in a year and a half for communications.

      The school would feel much more comfortable with student who has bs in rtf than with job for what may be relative but it should be relative but it should be wellrounded and wellrespected for while and do things.
