I am really confused by this because I really want to get into Emory University and I dont understand this. Emory college accpets 27 percent applicants and oxford accepts 56 percent but by junior year they go to emory. I dont understand this. Is Oxford college like UTSA where u waste a year to go to UT or is it just the same thing. SOmeone please tell me.

Alright I need some serious help with the whole college thing I’m completly lost. I’m 17, and a juinor in highschool. The thing is though I’m HOMESCHOOLED (if I was in public I’d probably be a sophmore)! I dont have credits and a GPA. My parents would not let me go to a public school my whole life so its been like this since grade 1. I could go now though. How am I supposed to get into college under these circumstances? i went to comm. college for 2 years with almost a 3.0, then transferred to a California State University and got disqualified because of bad grades (i was sick, didn’t withdrawl).

almost all colleges i want to apply to say i need to be in good standing with your current college. can i only send my community college grades and act like i never transferred. or will they find out or is that ok?

After I get out of the navy or air force, depending on where I end up, I will be going straight to college to be a forensic scientist. Like Abby in the TV show NCIS who processes all of the criminal evidence in the lab. I prefer to spend some time with my family while I’m in college, so I won’t listen to suggestions about colleges out-of-state. Thank you in advance for your advice!

This might sound strange but I am looking to transfer to a college close to home for next year. Dorm life is not for me and the houses near my school are really nasty. My question for you guys is if you went through this experience, any tips. Is it normal for someone wanting to go to a local college from dorm life? Is it harder to get into college sophomore year as a transfer student? Also, what do colleges look at for a transfer student SAT, ACT or just college grades. Any tips on how to make this process easier and to get into a local school faster. Thanks
